O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there; O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Tim is originally from New York. It was there growing up in a cultural-rich Northeast that he developed his love of art and also where he discovered his innate desire to mine objective forms of expression - from traditional art, to off-Broadway theater around Manhattan to daytime and episodic television and writing poetry Tim has formed relationships with many artistic mediums and outlets. He has gone to great lengths to find new and personal ways of creative expression.

Fine Art Done Boldly is Tim’s artistic mantra, and it materializes in three dramatic genres. His large format, Pop Art-styled paintings provoked through wry humor and vivid images, large biscuit-joined pine wood cutouts of pulp commercial subject-matter and unique “Cerealism” mosaic—images formed with intricately cut slices of cereal boxes—are astonishing in their complexity and beauty.

Tim’s art has been exhibited for multiple years at the Magic City Arts Connection, Kentuck, the Moss Rock Arts Festival and Design Supply in Birmingham AL. His art was curated and featured in the global 2018 Fall Saatchi Art catalog. He has a degree in art from OCU in Oklahoma, he is a member of SAG / AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists).

Tim lives with his wife and fellow artist Vaughan Pursell Spanjer at Pursell Farms resort in Sylacauga, AL.

STATEMENT

As an artist, I want to communicate new ways of seeing everyday subject matter through bold, bright and often times whimsical/poetic concepts. My style is colorful and graphic with notes of typography which aid the viewer in reaching basic, very ‘matter of fact’ conclusions while at the same time providing room for interpretation.
Fine Art Done Boldly is my artistic mantra and it serves me well.

In addition to finding new ways of telling real life stories in the form of products, objects and commercial icons I like to adapt my work to poetry and literary themes. Much of my art, although appearing simple in concept actually has deeper hidden poetic meaning. As a fan of classic poetry and literature I have found a unique platform for which to express my literary interests in the form of 2 dimensions in a way that no one else is doing.

Due to the quirky and eye-popping energy of my art I believe I have created something for all generations and all ages. Eyes were meant to see a full spectrum of color and I want my art to do its part to stimulate people’s sense of artistic visual awareness while at the same time speak to the viewers deeper desire to understand and discover some of life’s vast underlying meaning – but I will leave that to the viewer.
