I built this head study during a residency at the Banff Centre for the Creative Arts.  During this time, I was surrounded by nature at its absolute fullest and most wonderful - all green and lush with a beguiling combination of beauty, power, subtlety. I studied all sorts of strange pods and seeds found on walks, and I marveled at the starry sky views each night.  In the presence of such astounding natural beauty, one feels the importance of the earth and each tiny cell within it. This figure study reflects those walks, discoveries, and bliss.
